Steve Lawson brings over twenty years of experience in public service to his role as the Director of Parks & Recreation at the Jurupa Community Services District (JCSD). Leading the nationally accredited (CAPRA) Parks & Recreation Department, Mr. Lawson oversees three essential divisions, ensuring the provision of exemplary services to the Eastvale community. With a team of over 80 staff members and an operating budget of approximately $13 million, he successfully manages and maintains 15 parks, a multi-use trail, community centers, and other recreational facilities spanning over 250 acres.
Before joining JCSD, Mr. Lawson held several prominent positions in municipal governments, including Parks & Recreation Manager for the City of Temple City. He also served the City of Glendora as Parks & Community Services Manager for the City of Glendora. Educationally, Mr. Lawson holds a Master of Public Administration from California State University, Long Beach, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from California State University, Fullerton. Mr. Lawson is also a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional by the National Recreation and Park Association.
