Jurupa Valley, CA (September 8, 2026) – Jurupa Community Services District (JCSD) has surpassed 80% completion of its Regional Recycled Water Project, marking a significant milestone in one of the District’s largest water infrastructure investments to strengthen local water resilience.
Following more than a year of construction, the project continues to expand access to a reliable and drought-resilient water supply for Eastvale and Jurupa Valley.
Recycled water is highly treated wastewater that is safe for irrigating parks, schools, commercial landscapes, and other non-drinking water uses. It is delivered through a dedicated purple-pipe system, separate from the drinking water system, to avoid potential cross-connection with drinking water pipes. It is regulated under strict state health and safety standards.
“This project is a major investment in our region’s water future,” said JCSD Board President Anthony Herda. “Expanding recycled water use strengthens our local water supply, supports long-term reliability, and helps ensure our communities have the resources they need for years to come.”
Once operational, the project will deliver approximately 350 million gallons of recycled water annually, saving enough drinking water each year to meet the needs of more than 3,000 homes. JCSD expects recycled water service to begin reaching local schools, parks, and public landscaping by late 2026.
Through construction, JCSD has kept residents informed through an interactive online project map featuring construction updates, schedules, and project information. Since its launch, the map has received more than 3,000 views from residents and stakeholders following the project’s progress.
