Program Details

Time commitment: One evening each week for six weeks, plus a Saturday graduation/tours.

Location: Most sessions will be held at JCSD Desi House, located at 13215 Altfillisch Ct, Eastvale, CA 92880

Cost: Free!

Meals: Dinner provided at each weekly session; luncheon at graduation.
- Attendance: To get the most from the Academy (and to receive a certificate), plan to attend all sessions. One absence permitted.

Selection: Space is limited to customers over the age of 18, two per household permitted. A waitlist will be created of maximum number of participants reached.

What you will experience: (2025 schedule)
Week 1: Welcome & Orientation
Meet your cohort and JCSD leadership, learn our mission, services, and what to expect throughout the Community Academy.
Week 2: Water Resources
Where our water comes from, how we plan for droughts/emergencies, and the roadmap to long-term reliability. Learn about California and JCSD’s water resources.
Week 3: Water Treatment
From source to sink—see the treatment steps, water quality safeguards, and monitoring that keep your water safe.
Week 4: Wastewater Services
How wastewater is collected and treated; live vactor truck demo and pipeline maintenance overview.
Week 5: Parks, Recreation & Graffiti Abatement
Programs, facilities, events—and an interactive look at our graffiti response that keeps neighborhoods clean.
Week 6: Governance & Financial Responsibility
How JCSD is governed; budget, capital planning, and transparency tools that protect ratepayers; government and public affairs.
Final Tours & Graduation
Guided tours of JCSD facilities/treatment sites, then a graduation luncheon where the JCSD Board of Directors will present certificates of completion.
