What to Expect
JCSD is working to ensure that the transition to Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) is designed to be smooth and minimally invasive for our customers. Here’s what customers can expect during the installation phase:
Notification
Customers will be notified about the upcoming installation of their new meter. This communication will include all the necessary details about the process and how to prepare.
Day of Installation
On the of the installation, trained technicians from [VENDOR NAME] will perform the meter upgrade. Customers do not need to be home, provided that their meter has clear access. Ensure that the area around your water meter is free from obstructions like plants or personal items.
Duration of Service Interruption
The installation process can take up to 45 minutes to complete. During this time, your water service will be temporarily interrupted for up to 20 minutes. We strive to minimize this disruption and restore your service as quickly as possible.
Preparation Steps for Customers
To ensure a seamless installation, JCSD asks its customers to:
Remove any debris, tools, or objects that might obstruct access to the water meter.
For the safety of the technicians and pets, please ensure pets are kept indoors or in a secure area away from the meter during the installation time.
Please be prepared for a short disruption in water service during installation.
After Installation
Once installation is complete, you will receive a door hanger confirming that your new AMI meter is active.
