Jurupa Valley, CA (March 29, 2024) – The Jurupa Community Services District (JCSD) has won the wastewater Collection System of the Year award in its class from the California Water Environment Association (CWEA) in the Santa Ana River Basin (SARBS) region. This award is a testament to JCSD’s exceptional maintenance programs, commitment to regulatory compliance, and advanced safety and training procedures within its wastewater collection system.

Awarded in three categories based on system size, the CWEA’s Collection System of the Year recognizes the utmost excellence in managing wastewater collection systems. JCSD’s unwavering dedication to its collections system is evident through proactive maintenance, regular inspections, and the implementation of industry-leading strategies. This approach has enabled JCSD to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of its wastewater infrastructure.

A highlight of JCSD’s success is its remarkable track record of not experiencing a single Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) in over six years, an unprecedented achievement. This accomplishment underlines a steadfast commitment to reliability and is a clear indication of JCSD’s excellence in managing and maintaining its collections system to the highest standards.

“This award is a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and expertise of the JCSD team,” said JCSD Board Director Kenneth J. McLaughlin.” We are deeply committed to maintaining the highest standards in our collections system, ensuring the well-being of our community.”

JCSD takes pride in its team of certified professionals equipped with cutting-edge technologies and training. JCSD’s investment in infrastructure, programs, and highly trained personnel empowers the team and consistently delivers outstanding service to the Eastvale and Jurupa Valley communities. The commitment to safeguarding the environment is a cornerstone of JCSD’s operations.

In addition to the Collection System of the Year award, JCSD’s Aaron Guydosh was selected for the SARBS Mechanical Technician Person of the Year Silver Award. The award recognizes outstanding performance, dedication to the job, and sharing knowledge of maintenance procedures. Last year, Mr. Guydosh was awarded first place in CWEA’s Operations Maintenance Gimmicks and Gadgets Award.

The awards underscore JCSD’s excellence and innovation in the water industry, recognizing our alignment with the high standards established by CWEA. As a leader in water resource management for over 90 years, CWEA sets the benchmark for sustainable water quality practices in California. This accolade from such a prestigious organization is a testament to JCSD’s dedication and a driving force for our future endeavors in serving our community.
