Jurupa Community Services District Lowers Property Taxes Through Bond Refinancing
Over 1,200 customers will see a reduction in their annual tax bill ranging from $232 to $384
Jurupa Valley, CA (July 26, 2023) – Jurupa Community Services District (JCSD) is pleased to announce the successful completion of a bond sale to refinance existing bonds for four Community Facilities Districts (CFD), resulting in a significant reduction in property taxes for 1,286 customers.
The recently concluded bond sale, with a par amount, or the bond’s face value, of $20,830,000, will decrease the annual taxes on homes included in CFD Nos. 4, 15, 34, and 38 IA2. These CFDs, also known as Mello-Roos, impose special property taxes on homeowners to fund the construction of essential infrastructure, including parks, streetlights, and water and sewer systems.
During a recent meeting, the JCSD Board of Directors adopted a resolution authorizing the issuance of bonds for CFD No. 4, 15, 34, and 38 IA2. The successful bond sale will significantly reduce the debt service component of the special tax levy for the homes within these CFDs for the fiscal year 2023-2024.
“I am proud to announce the completion of this bond refinancing, which will provide substantial tax relief to our valued customers within several Community Facilities Districts,” said Lupe Nava, President of the Board of Directors at JCSD. “At JCSD, we are dedicated to finding innovative solutions that benefit our community while maintaining our high-quality services.”
Starting with the 2023-2024 property tax bill, customers in CFD No. 4, 15, 34, and 38 IA2 will experience a reduced special tax levy, resulting in annual tax bill reductions ranging from $232 to $384, depending on the square footage of their residential properties.
Customers within these CFDs will receive information via mail in the coming days. For questions regarding the tax reductions, please contact JCSD at (951) 685-7434, extension 219.
