Jurupa Valley, CA (April 6, 2026) – Jurupa Community Services District (JCSD) has reached 50% completion of its Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project, marking a major milestone in modernizing water meters for customers throughout the service area and leveraging innovative technology to enhance District services and promote water conservation.
Since September 2025, JCSD has been implementing a systemwide upgrade to replace traditional water meters with new AMI devices for within the service area, as part of the District’s Water Use Insight Initiative. Through remote, real-time data collection and leak detection, these meters will enhance service operations by minimizing the need for physical meter readings, enabling faster response times, and furthering water conservation efforts.
As the AMI project nears completion, JCSD will begin a rollout of its EyeOnWater application, empowering customers to view and monitor their real-time water use. This application allows customers to set customized usage alerts which can help reduce household water use, lower water bill costs, and stay informed about their water habits.
“As we modernize our water system, we are creating new opportunities to better serve our community,” said JCSD Board President Anthony Herda. “The AMI Project not only improves reliability and efficiency but also equips our customers with the tools they need to be active partners in conservation.”
JCSD’s transition to AMI meters aligns with the District’s ongoing commitment to preserving groundwater resources by encouraging efficient water use. Additionally, this transition demonstrates JCSD’s continued efforts to invest in new infrastructure to improve service and reliability within the community.
