The Chino Basin Water Conservation District (CBWCD) has reopened their 1.75 acre Waterwise Demonstration Garden to the public. It is located at 4594 San Bernardino Street in Montclair and is open Monday through Friday 8:00AM – 2:00PM, and Saturday 8:00AM – 4:00PM. This self-guided tour includes examples of Southwest, Woodland, and Mediterranean garden landscape designs. There is no admission to see and gain inspiration from the model gardens. Homeowners may view the plants and signage to learn about the waterwise plants used in the designs.
Serving Chino, Chino Hills, Montclair, Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, and Upland, The Chino Basin Water Conservation District is a public agency whose goal is the protection of the Chino Groundwater Basin. By offering the community no-cost resources and inspiration for water conservation, CBWCD hopes to inspire the community to use their water wisely and help ensure the Chino Groundwater Basin remains a reliable water source.
While in the area, be sure to also view CBWCD’s Wilderness Park. Open to the public every day of the week, the walking trail circles the park and includes 40 types of trees that are all optimized for the area.
For everyone’s safety CBWCD has implemented the following safety guidelines:
- Mask required within 6ft of others
- No food or beverages
- Garden entry will be closed if site becomes crowded
- Buildings are closed however outside restrooms will be open
