Efficient, cost-effective sewer service is one of JCSD’s core responsibilities, and a great effort is made to maintain and replace infrastructure in a proactive manner. Sewage that originates from a lower elevation must be conveyed to a lift station before traveling to a treatment facility. The River Road Lift Station, serving city of Eastvale residents, funnels approximately 4-5 million gallons of sewage every day to the treatment plant. Originally built in 2006, it was upgraded in 2014 to accommodate additional flow. Beginning last month and concluding in late fall, the River Road Lift Station is undergoing planned maintenance in two phases. In Phase 1, old pumps will be replaced with more reliable submersible pumps that work effectively in both low and high flow conditions. Some electrical modifications and the re-lining of two concrete surfaces are also part of the project scope.

Phase 2 will begin after the successful completion of Phase 1 and includes a new sewer main and additional pumps. All work is expected to be completed in 2021. More information will be available as the projects make progress.
