Jurupa Community Services District Leads Regional Mutual Aid Meeting
Jurupa Valley, CA (February 1, 2024) – Jurupa Community Services District (JCSD) hosted a multi-jurisdictional mutual aid meeting as part of its continued dedication to regional partnerships. Nine agencies and numerous vendors gathered to create a platform for educational exchanges and networking opportunities focusing on wastewater collection system operations and maintenance.
Several years ago, multiple regional organizations forged an agreement to provide mutual assistance in terms of equipment and personnel in the event of service disruptions. The organizations that have agreed to this mutual assistance are JCSD, Inland Empire Utilities Agency, Cucamonga Valley Water District, and the Cities of Chino, Chino Hills, Fontana, Montclair, Ontario, and Upland. The relationships between these organizations ensure minimal service disruptions and regional operational resilience.
“Hosting this mutual aid meeting is a proud moment for us at JCSD, as we are commitment to working collaboratively with our partners,” said JCSD Board President Bart Moreno. “As a regional leader, this mutual aid meeting ensures excellence in the services provided to Eastvale, Jurupa Valley, and the broader region.”
The meeting featured presentations from industry leaders such as SmartCover Systems, Duke’s Root Control, Community Action Partnership (CAP), and Smartrek. Additionally, JCSD provided a valuable opportunity for vendors like Golden Bell Products, Shoeteria Signature Workwear, Plumbers Depot, and Haaker Equipment Company to interact and display their latest offerings to enhance the meeting’s educational atmosphere.
Mutual aid between public agencies is a collaborative partnership where agencies share resources and assistance during emergencies, such as a sewer system overflow. Yesterday’s event marked another milestone in JCSD’s journey as a regional leader, setting an example for future cooperative endeavors with neighboring agencies
