Jurupa Community Services District Awarded For Excellence in Financial Reporting
The award is the highest form of recognition in government accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by JCSD.
Jurupa Valley, CA (January 25, 2023) – At its January 23 meeting, the Jurupa Community Services District (JCSD) Board of Directors accepted the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to JCSD by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). The award recognized JCSD’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).
“JCSD is honored to be recognized for its sound financial practices,” said JCSD Vice President Bart Moreno, who serves as Chair of the Finance, Administration, and Public Works Committee. “This award exemplifies JCSD’s commitment to accurately and fairly communicate our financial health and processes, which builds confidence in our ratepayers and the public.”
The award recognizes JCSD’s ACFR for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2021, which is accessible to the public here. According to the GFOA, JCSD’s ACFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the program’s high standards. These standards include demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
The GFOA is a professional association representing public finance officials throughout the United States and Canada since 1906. GFOA’s more than 21,000 members are federal, state/provincial, and local finance officials involved in planning, financing, and implementing thousands of governmental operations in each of their jurisdictions. Their stated mission is to advance excellence in public finance.
