Annual Sewer Repair and Replacement Project — Pyrite St / 60 Fwy Project
Summer 2025 – Winter 2026
Jurupa Community Services District (JCSD) is making important upgrades to the community’s sewer system as part of our Pyrite Sewer Renewal Project. This work will replace old and undersized sewer pipes, repair damaged infrastructure, and remove aging access points. Crews will also install larger pipes, reconnect existing service lines, and use trenchless methods to minimize surface disruption. Once completed, this project will improve sewer flow, reduce the risk of backups, and ensure a more reliable wastewater system for the future.
Important notes:
- Periodic temporary closures will be communicated to any affected residents within the area.Â
- Driveway access to residents in the construction zone will remain, except for short periods of time, while improvements are installed in front of the driveway.Â
- Work Hours: 7:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Monday through Friday
Water Shutdown and Lane Closure – Swan Lake Community/Hamner RoadÂ
June 12 – 13, 2025
As part of the Eastvale Square Project, the Swan Lake community in Eastvale will experience a temporary water service shutdown. The water will be turned off at approximately 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025, and is expected to be restored by 6:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025.
During this time, southbound traffic on Hamner Road will be reduced to one lane to accommodate project work.
Sky Country Drive Between Lucretia Ave. and Jupiter Dr.Â
Ongoing Monitoring
On April 2, 2025, JCSD responded to localized asphalt settling on Sky Country Drive between Lucretia Ave and Jupiter Dr. because of a compromised joint in the water main. JCSD promptly identified and repaired the joint in the water main, which was immediately followed by restoring the public roadway.
Important Notes:
- Upon completion, JCSD will monitor the area over the coming months to ensure the issue has been resolved and to maintain safe and reliable service for customers.
- There is no risk to private properties or customers in the area, as this issue was isolated to the public roadway.
- JCSD has provided updates to affected customers and the City of Jurupa Valley.
- JCSD Public Affairs visited every impacted customer home to provide information and answer questions.
- Asphalt settling can be common symptom of some sort of leak in a pipeline.
- JCSD mailed an letter to all impacted customers regarding our response and continued monitoring.

In cases of urgent or impactful service disruptions, JCSD may make direct phone calls to affected customers. These calls are intended to provide you with timely and personalized updates, ensuring you are fully informed and prepared for any changes to your service.
When on-site at a service disruption, JCSD personnel directly engage with customers to provide updates and answer questions.
