“Water Is Life” grand prize winners, Margaret Rosario, Dunamis Cho, and Cherry Lai were visited by JCSD Conservation Coordinator, Clover Rogers, as part of their personal prize delivery*. These young and talented artists submitted their work digitally this year because our annual student art contest to promote water conservation and stewardship was moved online to comply with the Regional Order’s restrictions and safety guidelines.
In addition to being recognized by the JCSD Board of Directors and staff, these art submissions were submitted to our regional partner, The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD), to be considered for their 2021 “Water Is Life” wall calendar. Margaret Rosario, our JCSD 7-12th grade winner, had her submission selected, and was personally recognized during MWD’s virtual awards ceremony on December 17th.
The contest is a great opportunity for students to showcase their creativity while reflecting on their most precious resource – water – and the importance of using it as efficiently in their daily lives.
