Capital Improvement Projects

Every two years during the budget development process, Parks & Recreation Department staff identify Capital Improvement Projects ("CIP") to complete in an effort to enhance and increase the longevity of our park system and quality of life for those who enjoy them.  The CIP Projects for Fiscal Year 2023/2024 and their statuses as of May 2024 are as follows:

 

McCune Family Park Improvements – Lighting of Tennis Courts

This grant-funded (Prop. 68) project involves designing and installing a lighting system for two existing tennis courts. Project Budget: Design: $15,000 / Construction: $200,000

Status: This project was awarded by the Board of Directors on January 22, 2024, in the amount of $149,460.  Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in June 2024.

 

Mountain View Park Tennis Courts Construction

This project involves designing and constructing two new, lighted tennis courts at Mountain View Park. Project Budget: Design - $60,000 / Construction - $1,000,000

Status: This project was awarded by the Board of Directors in December 2023, in the amount of $866,500. Construction began in early January 2024, and is expected to be completed by June 30, 2024.  

 

Harada Heritage Park Dog Park Lighting System

This project consists of designing and installing a lighting system for the dog park at Harada Heritage Park. Project Budget: Design $15,000 / Construction: $80,000

Status: The Board of Directors approved this project on March 25, 2024.  Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in June 2024.

 

James C. Huber Park Fencing Project   

This project involves the installation of tubular steel fencing around the perimeter of the park as well as the design and construction of a new stairway and ADA accessible ramp to allow patrons to safely access the basin. Project Budget: Design: $15,000 / Construction: TBD

Status: The City of Eastvale is currently reviewing the finalized plans and specifications for the stairway and ramp. Additionally, the scope of work for the installation of the tubular steel fencing has been completed. The entire project is set to be released for bidding upon approval of the stairway and ramp designs. Our goal is to complete this project by December 31, 2024.

 

Basketball & Tennis Court Resurfacing at Mountain View Park

This project consists of the resurfacing of the full-court basketball court and two tennis courts. Project Budget: $50,000

Status: This project was awarded to Trueline, Inc. in the amount of $45,000. The tennis courts have been resurfaced, and the resurfacing of the basketball courts is currently underway.

 

COMPLETED PROJECTS                                               

 Providence Ranch Park Ballfield Fencing Project

This project consists of the installation of new outfield fencing, bullpens, and foul poles for the two existing softball fields. Project Budget: $200,000

Status: This project was completed on October 20, 2023, in the amount of $164,000.

 

Floor Replacement - Pinnacle Room in Eastvale Community Center

This project consists of removal and replacement of flooring in the Pinnacle Room. Project Budget: $50,000

Status: This project was completed in December 2022 in the amount of approximately $35,000.  

 

Parking Lot Improvements

This project consists of the slurry sealing and striping of the parking lots at Deer Creek, Providence Ranch, Cedar Creek, Orchard, James C. Huber, and McCune Family Parks. Project Budget: $75,000   

Status: This project was completed in January 2024 in the amount of approximately $70,000.

 

 Park Furniture Replacement – Cedar Creek Park

This project consists of purchasing and installing all existing picnic tables, benches, trash receptacles, and drinking fountains within the park. Project Budget: $85,000

Status: This project was completed in March 2024 in the amount of $65,000.

 

Playground Resurfacing - Mountain View Park

This project consists of the removal and installation of new rubberized surface for both the 2-5- and 5–12-year-old playgrounds and is scheduled to be completed by June 30, 2024. Project Budget: $175,000

Status: This project was completed in March 2024 in the amount of $172,605.
