Be informed and provide input by attending JCSD’s public meetings which include Board of Directors meetings,
JCSD’s Board of Directors conduct public meetings, which are more commonly known as Board meetings, twice a month. The public is invited to attend meetings which take place on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month unless it falls on a holiday. We encourage you to attend and provide input regarding items that are on the agenda.
Meetings that fall on a Monday holiday are generally rescheduled for the Tuesday immediately following the holiday. Meetings generally take place in the Boardroom located at 11201 Harrel Street in Jurupa Valley. On occasion, it may take place at other locations within the District. Please check the agenda on JCSD’s website for the location of the meeting.
All meetings include a “Public Comment” portion at the beginning of each meeting to allow community members to comment on topics within the authority of the Board that may not be on the agenda. While the Board is able to listen to your concerns, they cannot take formal action on that item at that time. The Board can take your ideas under consideration and may discuss the possibility of placing it on a future agenda for further discussion and possible action.
Meeting Agenda Packets
Agendas and agenda packets for each regularly scheduled board meetings are posted on JCSD’s website 72 hours prior to each meeting for the public to review. Special meeting agendas and packets are posted 24 hours prior to each meeting. The public is encouraged to attend meetings and provide input on the topics in the agenda that are being considered by the Board of Directors. The only items that the public cannot participate in are “Closed Session” agenda items.
Board Committee and Commission Meetings
Items for Board consideration are introduced through committees comprised of two Board Members before it goes to the full Board for a vote. Board Members are appointed to serve on Committees annually by the Board President. The public is invited to attend the following committee/commission meetings:
- Eastvale Parks Commission (Members also include two Eastvale City Council Members)
- Finance and Administration
- Legislative/Public Relations
- JCSD/City of Jurupa Valley Liaison
- Parks & Landscaping/Graffiti
- Water and Conservation
Eastvale Parks Commission Meeting
The Eastvale Parks Commission was formed in June 2014 for the benefit of the community. This partnership between JCSD and the City of Eastvale benefits residents by strengthening communications between our agencies and increasing the City’s working knowledge of the complex issues relating to parks program development, maintenance, planning and financial considerations. Two members from JCSD’s Board of Directors and two Council Members from the City of Eastvale are appointed to serve on the Eastvale Parks Commission.
The Eastvale Parks Commission holds public meetings on the third Thursday of each month at the Eastvale Community Center, 13820 Schleisman Road at 6:00 p.m.
